If you are transferring one or more large-size files, use the Multipart transfer capability. Some of the variables affecting throughput are the number of files being transferred, the individual file sizes, and whether you want to open only one session or multiple simultaneous sessions to the remote host. If setup incorrectly however, performance can be degraded. Doing so has the potential to increase transfer throughput by 300% to 400% compared to older versions of CuteFTP and most other competing FTP clients.
Even though the default configuration settings work well for most users, it may sometimes be beneficial to customize them to suit your specific needs. With so many of the configuration options available, it is sometimes difficult to ascertain what settings are best. One of the benefits of the more powerful transfer engine is that it is highly configurable. The CuteFTP Pro transfer engine is much more powerful than the one used in older versions of CuteFTP.
